Density Lesson. Science.

LESSON. Faasua, Selam, Sefanaia, Atita.
Density: means the measure of how solid something is.
For Example:
  • A desk
  • The ground
  • ect.

Prediction #1-No.1:
  • When the oil is in the jar of water there could be bubbles floating around at the top.
  • The water and the oil could mix together and the oil will end at the top of the jar.




Observation # 1-No.1 :
  • As soon as the oil mixed with the water there were bubbles.
  • The bubbles floated to the top of the jar, then the oil just stayed at the top of the jar and is now settled in it’s normal position.
  • The oil is in one lane on the top of the jar.
  • There are small tiny bubbles inside the oil lane.


Observation #2-No.2:
  • The straw is sucking in the oil and water and letting it out when it is out of the jar.
  • There are small bubbles everywhere.
  • It looks like a tornado when you spin the straw really fast and hard.
  • There is an oil layer and a bubble layer.
  • The oil layer has gone bigger.
  • There is no more clear water.
  • The oil has turned into millions of bubbles.
  • The oil looks a little bit clear but has a lot of bubbles in it.


Prediction #3-No.3:
  • The food colouring might reach the water and change the waters colour or just mix with the oil and change the oil’s colour.
  • The food colouring might sink to the bottom.
  • The food colouring might make another layer.


Observation #3-No.3:
  • the food colouring is mixing with the oil.
  • The drops are dropping down from the oil layer.
  • It is going to reach the water.
  • It has reached it’s destination.
  • The colouring is spreading out.
  • When you mix it up it looks like jelly.
  • It looks like a tornado when you spin it.
